Mangiapane ovation

Andrew Mangiapane looked happy to be at his old stomping grounds on Tuesday.

The veteran forward received a warm ovation from Calgary Flames fans in his first game at the Scotiabank Saddledome since the Flames traded him to the Washington Capitals in June.

The Flames aired a tribute video which featured highlights of Mangiapane’s seven seasons with the team.

After the video, Mangiapane grinned as he stood up and waved to the cheering crowd.

Calgary received a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft for the forward. The team drafted him 166th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Mangiapane has 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) in 48 games with the Capitals this season.
