SJS@BOS: Bruins honor the lifelong contributions of Martin Luther King Jr.

The Boston Bruins honored Martin Luther King Jr prior to the team’s game against the San Jose Sharks on Monday at TD Garden.

On Martin Luther King Jr Day, the team held a brief moment of silence, encouraging fans to remember the impact of the Civil Rights leader.

“Today we remember and celebrate the life and legacy of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr,” said the PA announcer during the ceremony. “An inspirational voice for so many fellow Americans, he dedicated his life to the pursuit of racial equality and justice for all.”

After the ceremony, Bruins national anthem singer Todd Angilly performed his rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
