SJS@FLA: Tkachuk bats in rebound for game's opening goal

Different great goals are about different things. On Saturday, Matthew Tkachuk 's was about persistence.

The Florida Panthers forward scored an incredible goal that took him a few tries before finding the twine.

Tkachuk was parked in front of the net, as is his way, and tried to deflect a shot at first. After the initial save was made, Tkachuk tried to backhand in the rebound, but the puck shot straight up into the air.

It was then that Tkachuk, eye on the puck the whole time, batted it in out of midair for the score.

And, in true Matthew Tkachuk fashion, the mouth guard was hanging out the entire time.
