PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Colby's Kids program honours the memory and legacy of Colby Cave and will provide an opportunity for all youth to participate in the game of hockey. Ford of Canada Ltd is proud to support this event with the Edmonton Oilers and Colby Kids organization.

The Edmonton Oilers Colby's Kids program provides opportunities for youth to participate in the game of hockey. Edmonton Oilers Alumni will be leading the program and teaching the next generation of hockey players, with the support of Hockey Edmonton instructors.

The Colby's Kids program is easily accessible, affordable, and designed to help bridge the gap between learn-to-play programs, such as the Oilers successful First Shift, a partnership between the club and the NHL and NHLPA, and minor hockey registration. It provides kids and parents with more exposure to the sport through easy to access skill development and learning sessions to encourage continued participation in the sport.

"The overall objective of Colby's Kids is to create an atmosphere for the participants that is positive and memorable," said Fernando Pisani. "It's important to continue to stimulate the desire to play hockey in Canada and to provide families the opportunity to experience the game at its best."

This program is open to all children between the ages of six and 10 years old, who have completed a learn-to-play program and have never previously been enrolled in minor hockey in Canada. The registration fee is $150 per participant, which includes:

  • Six one-hour on-ice sessions;
  • Edmonton Oilers Colby's Kids jersey;
  • Autographed trading card, signed by Oilers Alumni;
  • Opportunity to meet Edmonton Oilers mascot, Hunter;
  • Graduation photos; and
  • $100 voucher towards minor hockey registration
