Jake Neighbours ASL

Jake Neighbours practiced his American Sign Language in a new video on Thursday.

The St. Louis Blues forward used sign language to tell fans to watch the team’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins in ASL on April 14 (9:30 ET) on the ESPN app.

The Blues are hosting their first-ever ASL Awareness Night during the matchup.

Neighbours learned ASL after befriending Nashville Predators forward Ozzy Wiesblatt as a teenager. Wiesblatt’s mother is deaf and the families became close after the two played for the U18 AAA Calgary Buffaloes together.

Last year, Neighbours designed special team hats that featured “BLUES” written out in ASL.
