Potential win: Carolina Hurricanes (Game 2 vs. NJD)
Hurricanes goalie Frederik Andersen stopped 23 of 24 shots faced in the series opener against the New Jersey Devils and leads the NHL in save percentage this postseason (.958). Andersen has a strong track record in the postseason; he's 39-30 with a .915 save percentage and three shutouts in 73 career playoff games. Carolina outshot New Jersey, 45-24, in Game 1, and, per NHL EDGE stats, has the best offensive zone time percentage (45.2 in Game 1) so far in the playoffs. Chance at fewest goals allowed: Vegas Golden Knights (Game 2 vs. MIN)
The Golden Knights held the Minnesota Wild to 20 shots on goal in Game 1; Vegas allowed the fourth-fewest shots on goal per game (26.1) in the regular season. Goalie Adin Hill stopped 18 of 20 shots faced and improved his postseason record to 13-6-0 with a .931 save percentage and 2.09 goals-against average in 20 career games; that's the second-best save percentage in Stanley Cup Playoff history (minimum 20 games played) behind only Tim Thomas (.933 in 51 games). Per NHL EDGE stats, Hill had a perfect save percentage from high-danger areas (5-for-5), midrange areas (2-for-2) and long-range areas (6-for-6) in Game 1. The Wild averaged 2.74 goals per game during the regular season (25th out of 32 teams), the fewest among any team to reach the postseason. -- Troy Perlowitz
Chance at most saves: Toronto Maple Leafs (Game 2 vs. OTT)
Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz stopped 31 of 33 shots faced against the Ottawa Senators in Game 1, including all 12 midrange shots and all nine long-range shots per NHL EDGE stats. The Senators outshot the Maple Leafs 33-24 and 27-13 at 5-on-5 in Game 1 and had 73 shot attempts at all strengths (compared to 52 from Toronto). Stolarz, who had a career-high 21 wins and four shutouts in 34 games this season, was 12-5-1 with a 1.86 goals-against average and .932 save percentage at home (compared to a 2.49 GAA, .919 SV% on road). The Maple Leafs allowed the fifth most shots on goal per game (30.1) in the NHL from the 4 Nations Face-Off (Feb. 22) to the end of the regular season. Per NHL EDGE stats, Stolarz was in the 96th percentile in high-danger save percentage (.849) and 92nd percentile in percentage of games with a save percentage greater than .900 (63.6) during the regular season. -- Chris Meaney
