Story of the Day

The Capitals continue their five-game road trip tonight when they visit the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena for the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The Capitals and Kraken will complete their season series on March 9 at Capital One Arena. Washington enters Thursday’s contest on a five-game winning streak and a season-long 11-game point streak (8-0-3). Alex Ovechkin (3g-6a–9p in 6 GP) has recorded a point in five of the six games he has played against the Kraken.

Washington has allowed four goals against during their five-game win streak (0.80 GA/GP). The Capitals, who rank first in the NHL in both goals against per game (2.43) and goals against per game on the road (2.43), have given up a combined six goals in their last four road games (1.50 GA/GP) and earned a point in all four contests (3-0-1).
