Red Wings recall three

Roster set at 23 for 2018-19 opener tomorrow versus Columbus

DETROIT -The Detroit Red Wings today recalled right wing Luke Witkowski and defensemen Joe Hicketts and Filip Hronek from the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the Red Wings placed defenseman Jonathan Ericsson (retroactive to Sept. 20) and Niklas Kronwall (retroactive to Sept. 28) on injured reserve.

The Red Wings now have 23 players on their roster: 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders. The 2018-19 season will kick off tomorrow night when Detroit hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:30 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena (FOX Sports Detroit/97.1 The Ticket).
