The Detroit Red Wings, Trinity Health Michigan and the Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) are partnering on a unique new, multi-year initiative to welcome the next generation of Hockeytown fans to the world. Beginning January 1, 2024, babies born at Trinity Health’s Oakland County hospital are gifted a Red Wings-branded swaddle blanket and information on a MESP 529 Savings Plan.
The “Wings Welcome” program will eventually include babies born at the Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Livonia and Muskegon birthing centers, in addition to Trinity Health Oakland County. Parents can also post photos of their newborns wearing the Red Wings swaddle blanket on social media, with 10 lucky babies receiving $529 toward a 529 Savings Plan, courtesy of MESP.
All new parents at the Trinity Health locations will receive information on an MESP 529 Savings Plan, an instructional swaddle guide and rules on how to enter the contest.
