Hockey Programs - Off-Ice - Try Hockey for Free

The Florida Panthers Try Hockey For Free series is a Free program designed to provide kids aged 5-9 their first opportunity to try ice hockey in a fun, competitive free environment coached by USA Hockey certified instructors. Participants should be first time hockey players with no previous ice hockey experience.

Learn to Play

The Florida Panthers in conjunction with the NHL, NHLPA and USA Hockey will be hosting "Florida Panthers Learn To Play" for boys and girls ages 5-9. All registrants must be first time ice hockey participants and have never been registered with USA hockey. The program was developed in an effort to reduce cost barriers to ice hockey participation by providing free equipment. The Learn To Play program primary goal is to create the next generation of hockey players and fans who will remain engaged with the game throughout the rest of their lives.

On-Ice Programs Girls & Women Learn To Play

The Florida Panthers in conjunction with the NHL, NHLPA and Lucky Pucks will be hosting "Girls and Women’s Learn To Play." Girls & Women’s LTP is designed for girls and women ages 14 and older who have little to no ice hockey experience. Every participant will receive 8 weeks of on-ice training with USA Hockey Certified Coaches and a FREE full set of custom fitted ice hockey equipment to utilize during the program and keep at its conclusion!

Adult Learn to Play

The Panthers Adult Learn to Play is a program designed for any participants ages 18+ to teach the game of ice hockey to adults at the beginner level. Entry includes a full set of hockey equipment they will be able to keep at the completion of the program and 12 weeks of on-ice training.

The American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities through the sport of hockey. ASHA provides an environment of learning, mutual respect and a sense of community to 5,000 participants in over 100 programs across the United States of America.

Off-Ice Programs

Floorball

The Panthers school floorball program provides equipment including nets, sticks, balls, instruction manuals and drill posters to schools along with a teacher-training day where Physical Education teachers learn how to integrate floorball into their PE classes. The program is currently in over 562 South Florida schools.

The Florida Panthers Next Step Clinics are multi-week programs designed for future hockey players to take their skills to the next level. Participants should already have enrolled in our Learn to Play Ball Hockey program or are seasoned hockey players looking to improve upon their ball hockey skills and hockey knowledge. Our curriculum is designed in conjunction with USA Hockey’s “Gold Standard” which ensures that program structure is both fun and effective. Our Next Step Clinics program offers three different skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Off-Ice StreetCats Scrimmage Series 

StreetCats Scrimmage Series is 3 weeks of recreational and non-competitive ball hockey gameplay designed to give participants the opportunity to play organized ball hockey games against peers their own age and skill level. Participants will be able to apply their learned hockey skills in an off-ice, game-like setting while focusing on teamwork, positioning, and communication. Welcome to all children ages 7-14 who have completed at least Learn to Play Ball Hockey or an ice hockey equivalent.
