Edmonton Oilers: Defenseman Darnell Nurse has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past five games and is skating on the first power-play unit with elite forwards Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Nurse (41 percent owned in Yahoo) is a must-own player in all fantasy formats with defenseman Oscar Klefbom out at least two weeks with a hand injury. Wing Alex Chiasson has five points (three goals, two assists) in his past five and is worth rostering as a value play in DFS with exposure to McDavid and Draisaitl on the top line. The Oilers have a season-high seven players in NHL.com's top 200, including timeshare goalies Mikko Koskinen and Cam Talbot, and joined the top 15 of the power rankings this week.
Tampa Bay Lightning:Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 48 of 49 shots faced against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday and was reinserted as the No. 2 goalie in NHL.com's rankings behind Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators. Vasilevskiy's return, coupled with the emergence of rookie center Anthony Cirelli (six points, plus-7 in past four games), has moved the Lightning over the Toronto Maple Leafs to lead the fantasy power rankings. Left wing Alex Killorn has four points (two goals, two assists), eight shots on goal and is plus-6 in the past four games. Elite center Steven Stamkos has eight points (six goals, two assists) in the past five games and continues to trend up in NHL.com's rankings.
Nashville Predators: Forward Colton Sissons (C/LW; 14 percent owned) has six points (three goals, three assists), eight SOG and is plus-3 in the past four games. He's skating on the top power-play unit with forwards Ryan Johansen, Craig Smith and defensemen Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi. Defenseman P.K. Subban (lower body) has been out since Nov. 13 but could return next week. Rinne is 4-1-0 with a .905 save percentage in his past five games and remains NHL.com's top ranked goalie. Despite missing Subban, forwards Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson, the Predators remain an attractive fantasy team and gain value with center Kyle Turris returning to the lineup with an assist against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
