Stamkos honored for 600th NHL goal, sons skate out on ice with him

Steven Stamkos was presented with something pretty unique out on the ice for his 600th NHL goal: Two miniature versions of himself.

Carter and Chase Stamkos skated out to stand with their dad before the Nashville Predators played the New York Islanders on Thursday. The two boys were in full gear and wore home yellow Predators jerseys with the number 600 on the back to commemorate dad's milestone.

The boys also read the lineup - with an assist from dad - in the locker room before the game to a rousing ovation from the team.

Before the game, Stamkos - joined by his wife, Sandra, daughter Olivia and his parents - was given a golden stick presented by Predators general manager Barry Trotz and CEO Sean Henry.

The Predators also played a tribute video featuring highlights from his 18 NHL seasons, the first 16 of which were spent with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Stamkos became the 22nd NHL player to hit the 600-goal mark on December 31.
