Red wings make a wish kid

The Detroit Red Wings added some girl power to their roster.

The team hosted a young girl from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Sylvia Rodegher, for the day on Saturday.

Sylvia was gifted a custom Red Wings jersey with her name on the back and a locker room stall which also had her name plate.

She then laced up her skates and participated in drills with the team. The young hockey player even got to show off her goal celly skills.

After practice, she joined Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin at a post-practice press conference where he surprised her with a one-day honorary contract to join the team for their game against the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Sylvia lit up when she heard the news and received a round of applause from the press room after she inked her contract.

The fun is just getting started for the Red Wings newest star.
