Deangelo 2 year contract NYI

Tony DeAngelo signed a two-year contract with the New York Islanders on Friday. Financial terms were not announced.

The 30-year-old defenseman had 35 points (five goals, 30 assists) in 76 games for the Islanders this season. DeAngelo could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round (No. 19) of the 2014 NHL Draft, DeAngelo has 264 points (57 goals, 207 assists) in 482 regular-season games for the Arizona Coyotes, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers and Islanders and 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) in 26 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
