Adin Hill signed a six-year, $37.5 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. It has an average annual value of $6.25 million.

The 28-year-old goalie is 24-11-4 with a 2.53 goals-against average, .906 save percentage and four shutouts in 39 games this season. His wins and shutouts are career highs.

"To sign a six-year contract here in Vegas is a dream come true," Hill said. "I want to say thanks to (general manager) Kelly (McCrimmon) and (president) George (McPhee) and my agent and everything to make it all happen. I'm very excited to be here.

"With the team, the organization, they're always pushing to win. I've played in teams that haven't made the playoffs and that and I think it's a blessing to be on a competitive team every year and have a chance to win. And also, I mean, I love my teammates here, love the organization, love all the staff, and living in Vegas is just an added bonus."

Hill is in the second season of a two-year, $9.8 million contract ($4.9 million AAV) he signed with Vegas on June 30, 2023, and could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round (No. 76) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Hill is 88-62-12 with a 2.65 GAA, .909 save percentage and 11 shutouts in 175 regular-season games (162 starts) for the Coyotes, San Jose Sharks and Golden Knights.

Since being traded to Vegas on Aug. 29, 2022, Hill is 59-30-7 with a 2.58 GAA, .910 save percentage and six shutouts in 101 games (99 starts).

"I'm happy for Adin. He's earned it. I mean, you think about the story that he comes in here two years ago from San Jose and what he's been able to do for us and himself," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. "So, big credit to the organization, and specifically Sean Burke, for the work he's put in and for identifying that level of talent, what he thought he could be. So, we're all happy."

Hill helped the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup in 2023 after beginning the season as their third-string goalie. He started their final 14 games that postseason, finishing with an 11-4 record, a 2.17 GAA, .932 save percentage and two shutouts.

"I mean, you have the feeling of when you win, so that's what you're chasing again," Hill said. "It's kind of that feeling of being with the guys in the locker room, knowing that you accomplished that together. It's truly special, and we know in this room we have the experience to do it. … We have a great locker room, so we want to win for each other, and I think that just makes us a better team."

The Golden Knights (39-19-7) are in first place in the Pacific Division, and Hill has been a big part of that, as he has managed to stay healthy after missing 30 games last season due to injury.

"I don't know exactly how many he's going to start, but if you map it out, he's going to be close to 50," Cassidy said. "We thought at the start of the year 48-ish is 60 percent, is 49 games. We went through that one day. … He hasn't missed anything other than maintenance days or optionals. So, I think that's important, that it's not only for your games, it's to keep your game up in practice, right? Days you're not playing, you've got to work on your details. And there's a lot of little things for goaltenders that that they have to do in between starts, and he's been able to stick with that as well."
