Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 2026 NHL Global Series Finland?

The 2026 NHL Global Series Finland is a pair of regular-season NHL games being held in Helsinki between the Seattle Kraken and the Carolina Hurricanes in November 2026.

Will Kraken season ticket members get access to tickets?

Yes – Kraken season ticket members, suite holders and partners will receive access to purchase tickets. Details will be shared separately.

How will this affect my Season Ticket Membership in the 2026-27 season?

Once the Seattle Kraken's full season schedule is released by the NHL (typically in July), your Kraken account will be adjusted to reflect the removal of one home game since that game will be played in Finland. Your Season Ticket payment plan will be updated so the remaining balance is divided evenly across your remaining scheduled payments.  If you paid in full, a refund will be issued to your method of payment for the ticket value.

How can I watch or listen to the games from North America?

Broadcast and streaming details will be announced soon.

Will there be fan events in Finland?

Yes – Details about fan events and other activities in Helsinki will be shared closer to the games.

What kind of currency do we need?

Stockholm: Sweden's currency is Kronor. However, the city of Stockholm is virtually "cashless" now. Many hotels, restaurants, and bars do NOT accept cash at all. All travelers should be prepared to pay for items not included in your tour package, with some form of credit card.

Helsinki: Finland's currency is Euros. They also accept credit card payments everywhere. If you are taking the Silja Cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm or vice versa, in general, you can choose to pay in Euros or Kronor, but credit cards are the main accepted type of payment.

Can we use ATMs in Helsinki & Stockholm?

Yes, however, you will be frustrated if you want to pay in cash in Helsinki & Stockholm. The cities are virtually cashless. Credit cards are a much easier form of payment in Sweden and Finland.

Should we tip in Helsinki & Stockholm?

15-20% tipping, like in North America, is not normal. Typically, they "round up" any bill to give some gratuity. However, percentage tipping has increased since the onset of point-of-sale technology for paying.

Do we need adaptors?

Yes, the plugs are different, and the voltage is different. The best adaptors are the ones that convert both and are usable worldwide. Sweden and Finland have 230 volts and 50 Hz and use Plug types F, C, and E.

Is WiFi available everywhere?

Yes, Scandinavia has WiFi available everywhere.

What should we wear?

The weather in Stockholm and Helsinki in November will be similar to New York; however, dusk comes earlier, so it will be darker earlier. Temperatures will be cool, but with limited or no snow. You should also be prepared that people dress up more for going out (especially in Stockholm) than in North America, and you may be rejected from nightclubs, etc., if you are wearing pro sports team merchandise, running shoes, or other similar attire. Business casual dress is the norm for group dinners, but casual dress is accepted for all other itinerary items.

What do Victory Travel Coordinators do?

Your coordinators help with logistics, tourist questions, currency questions, tipping questions, and are there for general support with buses, hotel check-ins, airport transfers, etc.

Are hotels the same as in North America?

All of the hotels we use are of similar quality and have similar amenities to large North American chain hotels like Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, etc. However, the square footage of hotel rooms is much smaller, and the bedding configurations are different.

Are the hotels centrally located?

All of the Global Series hotels are directly downtown near shopping areas, restaurants, pubs, bars, and tourist attractions. All hotels will be within walking distance of all of the above.

What are the bedding configurations like?

Most Scandinavian hotels have two twin beds. Separated, they are meant for two adults travelling together. Pushed together to create one double, they are meant for a couple. Most hotel rooms do not have two double or queen beds like in North America. Some hotels will have a few rooms with two twins and a pull-out sofa for a child (known as a family room). These family rooms are not readily available.

Will the Kraken offer a fan travel package to Finland?

Yes — the Kraken are finalizing official fan trip packages for the NHL Global Series in Helsinki. Fans interested in attending are encouraged to register here to learn more and receive priority access to tickets, hotels, flights and more, as soon as they are available.

Fans are also encouraged to stay tuned to Seattle Kraken channels for updates.

What is the difference between Group Flights vs. Individual Flights?

We have posted the Group Flight Contract (economy seats) information on the booking sites. Some of the advantages of a Group Flight Contract are that we can hold space for everyone months in advance, we do not need names right away, and the price does not fluctuate. Group Flight Contracts allow us to manage a large event like the NHL Global Series in Helsinki. However, Group Flight Contracts also have some disadvantages: you cannot upgrade within a group contract, and deviations (extensions) are not allowed. There is an option, however, to upgrade or to choose Land Only on the booking form. Any quote we give for an individual flight will be at market value on the day of (they fluctuate, unlike group flights).

Can I use points to book my flight?

Yes, but we cannot book flights on points for you. Please choose "Land Only" during the booking process; we will credit your package price by $1,000.00, and you can make your own flight arrangements.

Can I upgrade my flight?

Yes, but we cannot upgrade within the Group Flight Contract. Please choose "Upgrade" during the booking process, then we will send you individual flight quotes for upgraded Business Class or Premium Economy. We can then, once you have decided, adjust your balance owing for the difference between the Economy and the upgraded flights.

Can I extend my trip?

Yes, but we cannot deviate from flights within the Group Flight Contract. Please choose "Land Only" during the booking process; we will credit your package price by $1,000.00, and you can make your own flight arrangements.

Does Victory Travel give additional traveler information to the airlines?

Yes, even with Group Flights, we provide the airline with Special Meal Requests, Mobility Issues (wheelchair help from gate to gate), clients' Points Collector numbers if applicable, and clients' Known Traveler ID if applicable.

Can we sit with our travel party?

We try our best to have everyone in a travel party sit together. We get blocks of tickets for each game in 1-2 sections of the Veikkaus Arena, but sometimes we have uneven numbers of tickets in certain rows. Even if you are not directly beside all of your travel party, your club's fans will all be in the same sections. There are questions on the booking form that ask who you are rooming with and who you are travelling with in your party. These answers will help us determine ticket allocation.

When and where are the games?

Both games will be played at Veikkaus Arena in Helsinki:

  • Game 1: Thursday, November 12, 2026

  • Game 2: Saturday, November 14, 2026

Veikkaus Arena is located about 3-4 miles from your downtown hotels, and Victory Travel provides bus transportation to and from all games.

What time do the games start?
  • Nov. 12: 7:00 p.m. (EET) / 9:00 a.m. (PT)
  • Nov. 14: 8:00 p.m. (EET) / 10:00 a.m. (PT)

Helsinki is 10 hours ahead of Seattle in November, so both games will be morning starts in the Pacific Time zone.

What can we bring to the games?

Our local coordinators will update you on this directly before the games. But typically, it is similar to North America, where you cannot bring large bags or backpacks into the stadium, etc. You can read more here:

Can we upgrade our game tickets?

Victory and/or the NHL club have very limited upgraded tickets to sell. We have pre-set blocks of tickets to each game, with all fans sitting together. However, the Veikkaus Arena has roughly only 13,349 seats for hockey, so it is much smaller than an NHL arena, and all of the seats have great viewing angles. There are no seats with blocked viewing.

Will the games count in the regular-season standings?

Yes — both games are official NHL regular-season games and will count in the standings.

What Finnish players either play for the Kraken or are part of the organization?

The Kraken have several Finnish players and prospects, including Kaapo Kakko, Eeli Tolvanen, Jani Nyman, Ville Ottavainen, Nikke Kokko, Julius Miettinen and Kim Saarinen.

Carolina’s lineup includes Finnish forwards Sebastian Aho and Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

Is this the Kraken’s first international game?

Yes — The 2026 NHL Global Series Finland games will be the first regular-season action outside North America for the Kraken, as they become the 27th active franchise to play in such games.

The Hurricanes will be making their second trip outside North America, to Finland, for regular-season play. Their first was the 2010 Premiere Series, which saw the Club win a pair of games at Hartwall Arena over the Minnesota Wild, 4-3 on Oct. 7 and 2-1 in a shootout Oct. 8.
