Ken Morrow

Director of Pro Scouting

Ken Morrow assumed the role of Director of Pro Scouting for the Islanders in 1992, after leaving the bench as an assistant coach to Al Arbour during the 1991-1992 season.

Morrow was drafted by the New York Islanders in the fourth round (68th overall) of the 1976 NHL Draft and played defense for the Islanders from 1979-1989, collecting 105 points (17 goals, 88 assists) in 55 career NHL games. He played for the 1980 U.S. "Miracle on Ice" team before joining the Islanders in time for the team's run of four consecutive Stanley Cups. Morrow, was the first player in NHL history to capture an Olympic Gold Medal and the Stanley Cup in the same year.

Prior to turning professional, Morrow was an All-American at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, earning the CCHA Player of the Year honors in his senior season (1979-80). In four seasons at Bowling Green, Morrow recorded 126 points (34 goals, 92 assists) in 154 games.

Morrow was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995 and won the Lester Patrick Award in 1996.
