This Day in Isles History: June 30

June 30, 2013 -With the 15th overall pick, the Islanders selected Ryan Pulock at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft hosted at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
Upon being drafted, Pulock returned to finish his final season in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings. In his last season of junior hockey, Pulock posted 63 points (23G, 40A) throughout 66 games and helped lead the Wheat Kings to the conference semifinals of the WHL Playoffs. During that run, Pulock compiled four points and scored twice through nine games.

In 2014, Pulock began his professional hockey career with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The following season, Pulock played 15 games with the Islanders and 15 games in Bridgeport. The defenseman became a maintstay up top with the Isles during the 2017-18 season where he registered 32 points (10G, 22A).
In 346 games, Pulock has recorded 146 points (38G, 108A) and since the start of the 2018-19 season, Pulock has averaged a team-high 22:08 TOI/GP. Pulock also has 20 points (7G, 13A) in 55 playoff games and notably
made the game-saving block in Game 4
against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2021 Stanley Cup Semifinal.

The same day that the Islanders drafted Pulock, they acquired winger Cal Clutterbuck from the Minnesota Wild. Clutterbuck was traded to the Islanders with New Jersey's third-round pick (which was used to select Eamon McAdam) in the 2013 NHL Draft in exchange for Nino Niederreiter.
Since his arrival with the Islanders seven years ago, the 34-year-old has amassed 152 points (68G, 84A) throughout 587 games. Clutterbuck is a member of the Islanders 'Identity Line.'
This past season, Clutterbuck reached the 900-game milestone. Throughout his 15-year NHL career, Clutterbuck has totaled 262-career points (130G, 132A) and 616 PIMs.
