Tell us about yourself!
I’m a 5th grade teacher at Fairfield Elementary School in Massapequa. Interestingly enough, I teach in the same classroom I was a 5th grade student in. I have been an Islander fan ever since my parents took me to my first game. They took me to the glass to watch warm-ups and I saw 6’9” Zdeno Chara skating around and immediately became obsessed with all things Islanders related.
If you played hockey, what position would you have and why?
I started playing hockey when I was 6 years old. I played forward until I was 13. My coach switched me back to defense because I was the tallest on the team and that’s where I’ve been ever since. I still play in a midnight hockey league once a week.
Who is your favorite Islanders player and why?
My favorite Islander is Mat Barzal because he is a big game player and entertaining to watch. His vision and edge work is incredible and I especially enjoy watching him live.
