FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the team has signed forward Mavrik Bourque to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Bourque, 19, has registered 27 points (12-15=27) in 18 games with Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) so far this season. The forward is tied for 10th in the QMJHL in points (27) and is tied for 12th in goals (12), sharing second and ranking second on the team, respectively. Bourque also shares fourth in the League with three game-winning goals and is tied for fifth with five power play goals, sharing first on Shawinigan in both categories.

Bourque has appeared in 131 career QMJHL games, all with Shawinigan, recording 152 points (66-86=152). He also helped Team Canada win the silver medal at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, posting one assist (0-1=1) in five games during the tournament.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Plessisville, Quebec was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (30th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
