With help from four Sharks, for the first time in 92 years the United States is Men's World Champions.

On Sunday, May 25, the U.S. beat Switzerland in overtime in the final game of the IIHF Men's World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden.

Four Sharks collected gold medals in the triumph. Forward Will Smith, head coach Ryan Warsofsky, goaltending coach Thomas Speer, and video coach Nick Gialdini can all call themselves World Champions now.

Will Smith finished the tournament with seven assists and a plus-eight in 10 games played. Smith adds the Men’s World Championship gold to his collection after already earning gold at both the U-18 World Junior Championship and the U-20 World Junior Championship.

After the championship game, Warsofsky gave the game helmet to longtime athletic trainer Stan Wong who made a quick speech and awarded the helmet right back to Warsofsky for leading USA to triumph.

Thomas Speer adds the gold to his 2018 U-18 World Junior Championship silver medal.

Video coach Nick Gialdini earned his first IIHF medal with Team USA.

Congrats to our Sharks on gold! They look pretty good with that trophy don't they? 👏
