LAST WEEK

Last week, the Sabres posted a 2-0-1 record before opening a run of four straight road games with a 7-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

Buffalo has recorded five power-play goals in its last four games to improve to 47.6% on the year.

The Sabres are now 9-10-2 in 2023-24 and are three points out of a wild card spot at the quarter mark of the season.

Catch up on all the highlights from last Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals and Friday’s 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, including rookie forward Zach Benson’s first NHL goal against the Caps.

SEASON DEBUTS

Buffalo recalled forwards Isak Rosen and Jiri Kulich from the Rochester Americans on Saturday as the team was without Zemgus Girgensons, who has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, and Jordan Greenway, who was out against the Devils due to a personal matter.

Both players made their NHL debuts Saturday after finding out Friday evening that they would be headed to Buffalo.

Kulich, 19, played alongside Peyton Krebs and Kyle Okposo and skated 14:53 with one shot on goal. Rosen, 20, skated 13:00 on a line with Tyson Jost and Victor Olofsson.

MITTELSTADT MODE

Forward Casey Mittelstadt has recorded an assist in four consecutive games and is tied for the team lead in points (17) with Jeff Skinner and Rasmus Dahlin. His 14 assists in 21 games rank first among all Sabres skaters while leading the team in even-strength points (14) and assists (13).

Dating back to March 25, 2023 (32 games), Mittelstadt leads all Sabres skaters in assists (26), points (34) and even-strength points (30).
