MR. RANGER AWARD - Prior to the game, J.T. Miller was named the recipient of the fifth annual Rod Gilbert “Mr. Ranger” Award, given to the Rangers player “who best honors Rod’s legacy by exemplifying leadership qualitie both on and off the ice, and making a significant humanitarian contribution to his community.” In January, Miller and his wife, Natalie, donated $154,000 to the Garden of Dreams Foundation, the largest donation to Garden of Dreams made by a player in franchise history.
Adam Fox extended his point streak to five games (2G-6A) with his 70th career goal, tying Dave Maloney for the seventh most goals all time among Rangers defensemen.
Will Cuylle scored his 50th career goal and notched his 100th career point.
