Terry to miss beginning of next season for Ducks after hip surgery

Troy Terry is expected to miss at least the first month of next season after having surgery on June 9 to repair a hip impingement and a labral tear. The 28-year-old forward has begun the rehabilitation process with an expected full recovery time of 5-6 months.

Terry was limited to 61 games because of the injury last season and had 57 points (19 goals, 38 assists).

Selected by the Ducks in the fifth round (No. 148) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Terry has 342 points (135 goals, 207 assists) in nine seasons, all with Anaheim. 

He was tied for second on the Ducks with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games this season, when Anaheim advanced past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2017; the Ducks eliminated the two-time defending Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers in six games in the opening round before losing to the eventual conference champion Vegas Golden Knights in six games in the second round.

Terry's best season was in 2021-22, when he had 67 points (NHL career high 37 goals, 30 assists) in 75 games.
