Foegele-Bryant split

Looks like Warren Foegele is hoping to channel his “Mamba Mentality” on Saturday ... and again on Tuesday.

The Edmonton Oilers forward paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, wearing a T-shirt of the NBA superstar as he arrived at Rogers Place ahead of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, then brought the shirt back for walk-ins before Game 5 on Tuesday.

But it wasn't just any old Kobe Bryant T-shirt.

The shirt has a photo of Bryant from the 2012 NBA season when he wore a Wayne Gretzky Oilers sweater to a playoff game. That year, Bryant wore the jersey to help spark his Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals.

The shirt seemed to work last week as the Oilers beat the Florida Panthers, 8-1, in Game 4 to force a Game 5 on Tuesday, so this attire might become the norm for Foegele from here on out.

Puck drop for Game 5 is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN+, SN, TVAS, CBC).
