Josi 1000 game ceremony

The Nashville Predators honored their captain on Saturday.

The team celebrated Roman Josi – who reached the 1,000-game milestone on Thursday – in a special pregame ceremony before their game against the Utah Mammoth at Bridgestone Arena.

Josi is the first player in Predators history to play each of the first 1,000 games of his career with the team.

Prior to the ceremony, Josi’s teammates walked in to a special display at the arena honoring Josi.

On the ice, the captain was joined by his wife Ellie, his kids Luca and Ivy, parents Dorris and Peter and brother Yannick.

After the team played a video tribute in the arena, Predators owner Bill Haslam, CEO Sean Henry and general manager Barry Trotz presented Josi with a silver stick, a crystal and a painting acknowledging the milestone.

Josi was drafted by the Predators in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft, and has served as the team’s captain since 2017.

He leads the franchise in career points (753) and assists (555).
