McQueen picks same jersey number as Lightning McQueen

McQueen is focus. McQueen is speed.

Roger McQueen, that is.

The 10th overall pick in the 2025 Upper Deck NHL Draft revealed his new number on Sunday, and it’s one he shares with a legend.

McQueen picked No. 95, paying homage to the Disney character, Lightning McQueen, from the 2006 animated movie, “Cars.”

After Roger McQueen was drafted by the Ducks on Friday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, he took a short helicopter ride to Disneyland in Orange County, where he got to meet Lightning in the flesh.

McQueen debuted his new number at the Los Angeles Angels game on Sunday, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for the MLB team.

Now, Lightning and Roger will share not only a last name, but a number too.

And we can tell Roger one thing: It’s more than just an empty Cup.
