MTL@CAR, ECF, Gm 2: Ehlers makes nice move to take lead

Nikolaj Ehlers put on his dancing skates on Saturday.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward scored an impressive five-hole goal against the Montreal Canadiens during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final at Lenovo Center in Raleigh.

With three minutes left in the second period, Ehlers brought the puck over the blue line and danced between Canadiens defensemen before swinging his stick around for a shot on net. The puck went through the five-hole of Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead.

It was Ehlers’ third goal of the playoffs.

Ehlers jumped into the glass to celebrate the goal.

The Hurricanes forward wasn't done scoring for the night. In overtime, Ehlers scored the game winner to tie the series 1-1.

After the game, the Hurricanes forward joined the NHL on TNT crew to discuss his stellar game.

“Well, I’m still feeling it. I still got a little bit of shaky legs not going to lie,” Ehlers said. “You feel all of it. To come here first year, year is going great for the team, personally you are settled in, you are doing it with new brothers out there.

"To be able to get that at home in front of these fans that show up every single game, I get goosebumps. I got goosebumps out there…that was a really special feeling.”

Game 3 will move to Bell Centre in Montreal on Monday (8 p.m. ET; TNT, HBO Max, truTV, SN, CBC, TVAS).
