Jagr Emmy Award

Jaromir Jagr already has a full mantle – two Stanley Cup championships, five Art Ross Trophies and a Hart Memorial Trophy – but now he’s got one more piece of hardware to make room for: a regional Emmy Award.

The former Pittsburgh Penguins forward, who played for the team from 1990-2001, earned his latest award from his work as a producer and writer on last year’s broadcast of his jersey retirement ceremony at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

“I thought it was a contract from Hollywood,” Jagr said while receiving his award.

The “Celebrate 68: Jagr Retirement Ceremony” took place on Feb. 18, 2024 in Pittsburgh and was broadcast on Pens TV. Later, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards recognized the staff who was part of the broadcast (including Jagr) with the award in the “Sports Program – Live” category.

What's next? Do we hear an Oscar?
