Murray with Warf

Actor Bill Murray has a new Carolina Hurricanes jersey going for him, which is nice.

The “Caddyshack” star spent his Sunday at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, cheering on the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team in the second round of the NCAA Division I tournament, and, after the game, got a new Hurricanes sweater thanks to team president Doug Warf.

Warf posted a photo on social media after game as he met with Murray to give him the jersey.

Murray’s son, Luke, is an assistant coach for the UConn men’s basketball team.

The legendary actor and Illinois native is a known Chicago sports fan and was cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks during the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field in January. He joined the “NHL on TNT” crew for a pregame segment with fellow actor and St. Louis Blues fan Jon Hamm.

Even as a Blackhawks fan, Murray graciously accepted the Hurricanes jersey, and Warf said in his social media post that Murray wished the team luck in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

But don’t ask Murray for any predictions, because you’re asking the wrong guy.
