Player to watch for point and/or power-play point: Logan Cooley, F, UTA (vs. DET)
The Utah Hockey Club center has NHL career highs in goals (21), assists (32), points (53 in 63 games) and power-play points (16) this season. Cooley has six points (four goals, two assists) during a four-game point streak and had two goals, three points, five shots on goal and played 21:27 in his most-recent game, the most ice time he's seen since returning to the lineup Feb. 23. Cooley is back on the top line and first power play with wing Clayton Keller, who's tied for fifth in points since Jan. 1 (40 in 33 games), and wing Nick Schmaltz, who has seven points in his past five games. The Detroit Red Wings have allowed the sixth-most goals per game (3.57) since the 4 Nations Face-Off (Feb. 22) and have the worst penalty kill percentage in the NHL this season (69.0). The New York Islanders wing has career highs in goals (17), assists (21), points (38 in 62 games), power-play points (five) and average ice time (17:02 per game) this season. Holmstrom has eight points (three goals, five assists) in 11 games and is averaging 20:10 this month. Holmstrom has four points (three goals, one assist), including a power-play goal, during his four-game point streak and has nine shots on goal over that span. He was recently promoted to the top line and first power-play unit with center Bo Horvat, who has five points in his past five games. The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost six straight games and eight of their past nine and have allowed at least four goals in four of their past five games. Per NHL EDGE stats, Holmstrom is in the 81st percentile in midrange goals (six) and ranks third in top skating distance game on the power play this season (1.62 miles); Horvat leads the League in that category (1.69). -- Meaney
Player to watch for point: Cody Glass, F, NJD (vs. VAN)
The New Jersey Devils forward has six points (two goals, four assists) in seven games since being acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins prior to the NHL Trade Deadline. Glass is averaging a career-high 15:10 with the Devils (compared to 13:25 with Penguins) and played a season-high 17:11 in his most-recent game. Glass, who has points in five of his seven games with New Jersey, has been playing 5-on-5 with wing Jesper Bratt, who has 11 points in his past six games. The Vancouver Canucks have lost consecutive games on the road and allowed nine goals over that span. Player to watch for point and/or SOG: Matt Duchene, F, DAL (vs. MIN)
The Dallas Stars center leads them with 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) over his past 16 games, a span (since Feb. 7) that includes twice as many multipoint games (six) as games without a point (three). Duchene leads the Stars in power-play points (24), including a career-high 17 assists with the man advantage, but has been very productive at even strength since they acquired wing Mikael Granlund; along with Mason Marchment, that trio has combined for nine goals when on the ice together at 5-on-5 since Feb. 1, the most by any Stars forward line over that span. Per NHL EDGE stats, Duchene ranks in the 86th percentile in both high-danger goals (12) and 20-plus mph speed bursts (135).
