Kings Notes:
- With his team-leading fourth playoff goal this postseason, forward Adrian Kempe became the fifth player in Kings history to open a postseason with a three-game goal streak. The others: Wayne Gretzky (4 GP in 1991), Dustin Brown (3 GP in 2012), Jimmy Carson (3 GP in 1988) and Daryl Evans (3 GP in 1982), per NHL PR.
- After a pair of assists in Game 3 on Friday, captain Anze Kopitar is just third player in Kings history to record 10 multi-assist playoff games. The others: Wayne Gretzky (17) and Luc Robitaille (11).
- Kopitarโs seven points (1-6=7) are the most assists and total points in NHL history through the first three games of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by a skater aged 37 or older.
- With a League-leading seven power play goals (PPG) on 12 opportunities (58.3%), the Kings have struck multiple times with the extra man in each of their first three games of a playoff year for the second time in franchise history. This marks the most since the 2010 Western Conference Quarterfinals, where the Kings struck at least twice on the man-up in the first four consecutive contests against the Vancouver Canucks and finished the six-game series with 10 PPG.
- As a result of his first period goal in Game 2 last Wednesday, defenseman Brandt Clarke (22 years, 73 days) became the second- youngest player in the past decade to score a playoff goal for the Kings, behind Quinton Byfield (1-0=1 in Game 5 of 2023 R1; 20 years, 249 days).
Oilers Notes:
- Evan Bouchard netted both of the Oilers power play goals in Game 3 including the eventual game-winning goal. Bouchard now has 29 points (5-24=29) in 21 career postseason games against the Kings.
- Connor Brown also scored his first two goals of the postseason in Game 3. Brown now has three goals over his last six career postseason games.
- Connor McDavid scored his second goal of the postseason and added two assists in Game 3. Friday's Game 3 was McDavid's second multi-point game of the postseason and the 39th of his career.
- After replacing Stuart Skinner in the third period of Game 2, Calvin Pickard started Game 3 for the Oilers and made 24 saves for his second career postseason win.
- Leon Draisaitl picked up a pair of primary assists on power play in Game 3. Draisaitl now has five points (2-3=5) in three gams.
