On Thursday, November 20, the Philadelphia Flyers will host their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Game presented by Toyota as the club takes the ice against the St. Louis Blues at 7:00 p.m. As part of the league-wide initiative, the Flyers will turn Xfinity Mobile Arena lavender in support of the fight against cancer and honor special guests in-game who have been impacted by cancer.

"The Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association is proud to once again partner with the Philadelphia Flyers for the team’s Hockey Fights Cancer Game. This meaningful tradition allows us to stand with our community, honor those affected, and support families in their fight,” said Paul Muller, President of the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association. “At Toyota, we believe in driving hope both on and off the ice, and together we’re proud to shine a light on the resilience, strength, and hope of those impacted by this terrible disease.”

“We’re proud to team up with Toyota and together welcome fans for our annual Hockey Fights Cancer game,” said Todd Glickman, Chief Revenue & Business Officer. “This game stands out as one of our premier nights to share within our community. It is our honor to recognize the resiliency of everyone who has battled, and continues to battle, this disease and show our support for families impacted in their fight against cancer.”

Courtesy of Toyota, all fans in attendance will receive an "I Fight For" rally towel with a space to write in the name of a loved one impacted by cancer. Toyota will also make a $5,000 donation to Flyers Charities to support families impacted by cancer.

Before the game, the team will also wear Hockey Fights Cancer themed lavender jerseys as they enter the arena. Flyers Charities will auction off the player worn and signed jerseys as part of a specialty Hockey Fights Cancer auction. The auction will be live on FlyersCharities.com beginning Thursday, November 20 at 12:00 p.m. and closing Wednesday, November 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Xfinity Mobile Arena’s ice-level dasher boards and arena LEDs will also turn lavender. Completing the arena's Hockey Fights Cancer-themed makeover, "I Fight For" cards filled out by Flyers players, Flyers coaching staff and Flyers employees will line the player tunnel walls. During the game, coaches, broadcasters and Flyers front office executives will also wear Hockey Fights Cancer pins to show their support. Fans can also shop a selection of Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys and apparel throughout the arena.

A highlight of the evening will be when the players hit the ice for warmups sporting custom SkateSkins® and goalie helmets designed by players in partnership with children battling cancer. The Flyers are the first full team to wear custom SkateSkins®  to highlight and support an NHL community initiative. Throughout the past month, several young patients who are currently undergoing treatment or are in remission joined forces with Flyers players to design one-of-a-kind SkateSkins® and goalie masks that the players will wear during pregame warmups.

Throughout the evening, the Flyers will host and honor a number of special guests who have been impacted by cancer with special pre-game ceremonies and in-game recognitions.

Ceremonial Puck Drop

Dropping the Ceremonial Puck to kick off the evening will be Flyers broadcaster, host of the Flyers Daily podcast, and special member of the Flyers family Jason Myrtetus. Diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer just before Christmas 2024, Myrtetus began an aggressive treatment plan under the guidance of Dr. Altman and the Penn Medicine team including eight chemotherapy infusions over 16 weeks, followed by 28 oral chemo and radiation treatments. Throughout nearly a year of grueling care, recent scans and tests show Jason has no evidence of cancerous disease as of Friday, October 31, 2025.

Lineup Read

Reading the starting lineup will be 15-year-old goaltender Layton Kovol. Layton was the top fundraiser in Pennsylvania for the 2025 October Saves campaign, raising over $6,000 for cancer research during the month-long effort. He will be joined by his mother, Jamie, who has faced a long-term battle with brain cancer. Later in the evening, Layton will join other top fundraising goaltenders from the October Saves campaign for a post-game meet and greet with Flyers goalies Sam Ersson and Dan Vladar. Collectively, the six participating youth hockey goalies raised over $20,000 during October.

Design Day Special Guests

Special guests of the evening will include young cancer paitents ages 8-19 who took part in an event the Flyers hosted at the Flyers Training Center, where young fighters and survivors partnered one-on-one with Flyers players to bring their artistic visions to life. Each participant collaborated directly with their player to design one-of-a-kind SkateSkins® or goalie masks, which were later printed and prepared for tonight’s debut.

October Saves Youth Goalies

The Flyers teamed up with non-profit October Saves for the third consecutive season to encourage and engage youth hockey goalies in their efforts to raise funds for cancer research. Each youth goalie will receive four tickets to the Flyers’ Hockey Fights Cancer Game and meet goalies Sam Ersson and Dan Vladar postgame.  Expanding on the initiative this season, Ersson and Vladar made a donation for every save they made throughout the month of October that was then matched by Flyers Charities.

The Flyers and Toyota also teamed up to provide game tickets to local cancer organizations through the club’s Community Ticket Grant program:

American Cancer Society
Bringing Hope Home
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Ronald McDonald House
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
