MORNING SKATE RECAP

NEWARK, NJ - The Devils held a full morning skate at TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday ahead of facing the Bruins in the final road game of the regular season.

Recently recalled center Marc McLaughlin joined his teammates on the ice. And from the look of the workflow, will center a line between Nolan Foote and Nathan Bastian.

Forward Stefan Noesen, who was given the previous game off for load management, will be back in the lineup with Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt.

"It was managing his workload," head coach Sheldon Keefe said of Noesen. "In Noes' case, he'll get back in tonight and get back up to speed."

Goalie Jake Allen worked the starter’s end of the ice.

McLaughlin Debut

McLaughlin will be making his Devils debut in tonight’s game. He’ll also be facing his former team as he played 12 games for the Bruins this season.

“I had a really good three-and-a-half years in Boston and Providence. It’s always sad to leave a place but I’m really excited for a new opportunity,” McLaughlin said. “It’s exciting to be up here and showcase what I have.”

Revenge Rematch

Even though the Bruins are near the bottom of the NHL standings, the last time these two teams met was in New Jersey with Boston winning decisively, 7-2. The Devils haven’t forgotten.

“You have to realize how they played against us last time,” forward Jesper Bratt said. “They basically dominated us in our building. That’s something that we won’t forget. That’s something we want to do today, and get momentum for the group, a good feeling in the room that we put in a good 60-minute effort.”

"These guys embarrassed us in our building," defenseman Brett Pesce said. "We'll be ready."

King Clancy

Devils center Jack Hughes was named the club’s nominee for the King Clancy award. Read here for full details.

Suspension

The Devils will not have forward Paul Cotter for the final two games of the regular season. He was given a two-game suspension for his collision with NY Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech on Sunday afternoon.

      THE SCOOP

The Devils will play their final regular-season road game on Tuesday in Boston, their first visit to face the Bruins this season. New Jersey is 22-16-2 away from Prudential Center this season and will look to add one more win to the mix.

The team will be without forward Paul Cotter for the final two games of the regular season. Cotter was suspended by the Department of Player Safety for his illegal check to the head on Islanders' Adam Pelech on Sunday afternoon. The Devils also recalled forward Mark McLaughlin for Utica and the 25-year-old made the trip with the club to Boston.

New Jersey already has its spot locked up in the post-season, set to begin their playoff run with a First Round series against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils close out their regular season on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings at home.

The Boston Bruins will conclude their regular season on Tuesday. It has been a dissapointing season for the Bruins, who have missed the playoffs and traded away their former captain Brad Marchand at the Trade Deadline. The Bruins, with their final game remaining, sit last in the Eastern Conference with just 75 points and 33 wins on the season.

Boston is 20-14-6 at home and concluded their road schedule with a 13-25-3 record.
