MONTREAL – The Canadiens crawled out of a 3-0 hole and made it a game but were unable to find the equalizer in a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre on Thursday.

Cole Caufield scored in a fourth consecutive outing, while Nick Suzuki tallied a multi-point night to extend his point streak to four in the loss.

Montreal dominated in shots, outdoing Buffalo 34-17 on Thursday.
