PROSPECTS: Allan Finds Offensive Production with Rockford Over Weekend

The Blackhawks’ college prospects continue to extend their point streaks

As the Chicago Blackhawks enter the NHL All-Star break, prospects between the AHL, college and juniors continue to fight within their league’s standings. 

Here is what the prospects did last week: 

ROCKFORD 

In the IceHogs’ 5-3 loss against the Manitoba Moose on Saturday, Nolan Allan recorded his second career goal to tie the game up in the first period. This is his first goal since Dec. 30, bringing his season total to nine points (2G, 7A) in 38 games.

Jalen Luypen also found his name on the scoring sheet after he produced two assists in his last three games with Rockford. He produced 11 points (1G, 10A) in 35 games this season. 

On Sunday, the Blackhawks announced that they reassigned Louis Crevier and Cole Guttman at the start of the NHL All-Star break. Rockford plays the Manitoba Moose on Jan. 30 with a 7 p.m. puck drop. 

COLLEGE 

After a spilt weekend against the Wisconsin Badgers, Frank Nazar notched five points (3G, 2A) in that span and extended his seven-game point streak. Since his return from World Juniors, the forward scored 15 points in six games to bring his season total to 32 points (13G, 19A) through 24 contests. He ranks fifth in assists, sixth in points and ninth in goals among all Big Ten skaters.

Over with the Denver Pioneers, Aidan Thompson looks to create some offensive chances after two losses to North Dakota. The sophomore forward produced 15 points (6G, 9A) in his last 16 matchups, bringing his season total to 19 points (7G, 12A) in 26 games. 

In Minnesota’s 5-1 win against Michigan State on Saturday, Oliver Moore notched two goals and one assist to help defeat the Spartans. The rookie extended his point streak to seven games since his return from World Juniors.

JUNIORS 

Gavin Hayes scored two goals in Friday’s 4-2 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. Both goals came late in the third period to secure the win. While he snapped his seven-game point streak, he produced seven goals and six assists in seven games with the Greyhounds.
