As the Blackhawks gear up for the 2024-25 season, a fresh lineup of veteran newcomers who were signed over the summer will be ready to hit the ice wearing red and black. To help introduce the newest additions, Blackhawks.com sat down with them for a few quick get-to-know-you questions.

Among the newest faces joining the Blackhawks this season is Pat Maroon, a three-time Stanley Cup champion known for his physical presence and leadership on the ice.

What is the first thought that comes to mind when you hear “Chicago”?

"The Windy City."

What was your “welcome to the NHL” moment?

"Ooh, well, I would say my first game ever was playing at the United Center. That was pretty cool—to have your first game played at the United Center, in a great arena with the history behind the Chicago Blackhawks. I think everyone would obviously say it's scoring your first goal, so moments like that, for sure."

What is a piece of advice that you would give to a rookie coming into the team?

"Just work hard and enjoy the opporutnity that is given to you."

What condiments would you put on a hot dog?

"Ketchup. Sauerkraut. Mustard."

If there is going to be a Pat Maroon giveaway night here in Chicago, what are the fans getting?

"They should get a bobblehead—a Pat Maroon head with a mullet."

Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

"Not really. The only thing that might catch people's eye is everything on the right first, so alternating right and then left."

Who are you most excited to have as a teammate here this season?

"[Tyler] Bertuzzi—he seems like a fun guy to hang out with."

If you could play alongside with any NHL player in history, who would you play with?

"Wayne Gretzky, obviously."

If you could play any other sport, what would it be?

"Golf. I love the game, grew up watching it, and I stink at it. I just like the competitive edge to it, how it's an individual sport, and the mental side of it."

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose?

"I would like to pick Tiger Woods' brain—just the way he approaches the game, how strong mentally he is, and how he handles things under pressure."
